Cigarettes To Be Only Sold Under Shop Counters
I should point out from the start of this editorial post that I am a smoker. I have just come back from Gran Canaria a week ago, and brought with me 400 cigarettes. And one carton is almost finished.
So, here in the UK a law has just been passed stating that you can only sell cigarettes under the counter. Joy. Fortunately the law regarding removing the branding on cigarette packets fell through. But the fact that I now have to guess prices and brands which stores stock really annoys me. First we couldn’t smoke on planes, then we couldn’t smoke in bars, now we can’t see our precious cigarettes or their prices.
The things is, they will never outright ban smoking, and if they try to ban smoking outside, then I’ll just stay inside, blog at Today.com, get my cigarettes sent by home delivery at Tesco.com and do my other shopping from Amazon.co.uk. Let’s see how Mr Brown likes us smokers becoming online recluses.
